I’m Ellie Hard and some of you visiting this website will probably already know me very well.

Over the past ten years I have been working as a tutor at Colebrook Day Centre in Redhill as well as at Longmead, Bletchingly and East Surrey College. Whilst teaching, I have met some really wonderful people along the way. I think it’s fair to say that we have learned a lot together about what makes for great lessons that not only help us discover new “stuff” but are also lots of fun!
The amazing things I have discovered over the past decade have given me the inspiration to create Open Door Teaching. I’m really excited about it, as I really hope you will be, once you find out more!
Open Door Teaching is all about designing and teaching classes for adults with Special Educational Needs. Maybe you just need a bit of help with your maths, or perhaps you want to be able to tell people exactly what you like to do (and also what you don’t!). With your help and also the help of your family or carers, Open Door Teaching aims to create a class that is just right for you. So that you can learn the things are really useful to you.
All class sizes are kept very small, so you can be sure that you will get lots of help with everything and can work at your own pace.
Most importantly, this Website is for YOU, and I hope that over the coming months we will be able to post some brilliant pictures of you, or maybe some of your work on these pages. Lets get started…
